Digital history is a growing sub-field of history, which seeks to digitize history for a variety of purposes – primarily to preserve historical records, and to make those records and other materials more easily accessible to a wider audience.
Those who wish to make their career in the history field will need both the traditional research and writing skills as well as the new technical practices of the digital historian to succeed.
This course will explore the emerging field of digital history, and introduce students to the areas contained within the broader field. Students will also practice the techniques necessary to the digital historian.
